Personal Statement:

Dr. Kai Zhou received his Ph.D. degree from KU Leuven in Belgium, and then joined University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands for postdoctoral training. In 2015, he joined Zhejiang University as an assistant professor, and then moved to Shenzhen People's Hospital in 2018. In 2024, Dr. Zhou joined the Medical School of Shenzhen University as an associate professor. He was awarded Shenzhen Overseas & local leading high-level talents. He also serves as an editorial board member/associate editor of Microbiology Spectrum, Frontiers in Medicine, Frontiers in Public Health, Infectious Microbes & Diseases, and Genes. His main research interests are mechanisms of antibiotic resistance and bacterial pathogenicity. He has published more than 90 high quality peer-reviewed papers.
